Architecture
Architecture enlightens life. We are passionate about what we do and passionate about building better places to live, work and play in. Whatever we do it's structured by our understanding of the human condition. We try in all our work to be site specific, by responding to the context, scale, material and light. We are economic and responsible about its effects. We have no particular style to sell, we understand our client's and user's needs and transform these into forms to fit the location with meaning.
Typologies
Our practice has worked on a great variety of typologies, from individual houses and apartments to major housing developments of 500 units. We have renovated buildings over a thousand years old, designed many cinemas and been involved in the design of commercial projects across Europe. Our designs have included offices, theaters, hotels and gardens. We have even been involved in the design of a cemetery.
Design
Our team are experienced designers working in various fields from interiors, bespoke furniture, silverware, ceramics and lighting. We have a holistic approach to design problems. Our aim is to maximise the potential of creative, sustainable solutions at whatever scale. This capability is applied to all our projects whatever the scale.
Urban Design and Master Planning
We are interested in place making. Place making capitalises on a local communities assets, inspiration and potential, ultimately creating good public spaces that promote individuals health, happiness, and well being.
Urban Design & Master Planning
Our urban design practice develops an integrated approach to a wide range of factors such as resources, emissions, health, people, culture, habitat and traditions. The interrelationships between these factors can shape urban form.
Our work is supported by partners who have a lifetime experience in planning and heritage. We use workshops and consultation with other specialists. In recent projects we are proud to have collaborated with Riccardo Marini, Edinburgh's City Design leader and to have started a new expanding consultancy with Buro Happold's multi disciplinary engineering team.
